Hydraulic frameworks are key factors in the aerospace industry and they are of no exception when it comes to testing. Through years of expertise and in-house equipment, MGA’s facility is able to provide structural, vibration and environmental testing designed to ensure the landing gear system can tolerate extreme conditions and load/vibration stress, all while maintaining accuracy to the consumer specification (RTCADO 160). RTCADO 160 is the standard for testing of avionics hardware. It outlines a set of minimal standard test conditions and corresponding test procedures for airborne equipment for the entire spectrum of aircraft from light general aviation aircraft up to the jets and supersonic category of aircrafts. The purpose of these tests is to assure safety of the component through various environmental, structural, fatigue and vibration conditions.

Testing Services:

Structural:

  • Proof Pressure
  • Burst Pressure
  • Limit Load
  • Ultimate Load
  • Pressure Impulse
  • Fatigue Load

Environmental:

  • Temperature and Altitude
  • Temperature Variation
  • Humidity
  • Waterproofness
  • Fluid Susceptibility
  • Salt Fog
  • Icing

Vibration:

  • Operation Shock and Crash Safety
  • Vibration

At MGA’s facility, structural testing is conducted to test for strength, and stiffness by applying different load levels to the landing gear. Loads are applied through actuators and strain data is collected through strain gauging. While pressure impulse testing is performed to be able to determine the life expectancy of the landing gear by extending and retracting the actuator. With repeated pressure impulse testing, MGA is able to identify data that is of critical importance when it comes to hydraulic systems. In addition, this type of test is targeted on the smooth operation of the landing gear during several types of service conditions that MGA is able to simulate in its high/low temperature chambers. Environmental testing such as acceleration, altitude, temperature, sand and dust is also performed to test the landing gear through different simulated environmental conditions.

MGA is committed to providing unmatched service that includes the following:

  • Best in class software custom designed to integrate control and data acquisition.
  • High performance actuators, and custom fixturing to fit the samples.
